Here is an overview of some of the programs offered by the Bereavement
Department:
- Groundwork: An educational workshop for people who have been grieving for less than four months.
- From Sorrow to Wisdom: A group for adults who have lost a parent.
- Sharing Loss, Rebuilding Life: A group for those who have experienced the loss of their spouse or significant other.
- Touch Stones: A deeply reflective workshop where participants work with beads as a means to integrate the grief process.
- Holiday seminars: In-services designed to help people cope with bereavement and grief during the holidays.
- Professional and community education: Horizon’s Bereavement Department presents in-services to local churches, community organizations, and professional groups on an individual basis.
- Social programming: Group lunches, game nights, or trips to a local attraction help those who have suffered a loss reconnect with activities they can enjoy.

Memory
Cloths
Participants will craft their own memory cloth--a
collection of patterns, images, and objects symbolic of their loved one.
All have the option to share their work with the group.
